As a Minecraft server owner, it's important to be able to access your server files for various reasons, such as uploading new plugins or editing server configurations. In this guide, we'll walk you through the various actions you can perform on your server files and how to access them using the Pterodactyl panel.

Actions you can perform on your server files


Upload files

You can upload files to your server by clicking on the "Upload" button at the top right of the panel. Select the file you want to upload and click the "Upload" button. The file will be uploaded to the current directory.
(or you can simply take the files from your device and drag them to the file manager page)

Delete files

You can delete files by selecting them and clicking on the "Delete" button. This will delete the file permanently, so be careful.

Rename files

You can rename files by clicking on the "Rename" button from the three dots menu. Enter the new name and click the "Rename" button.

Move files

You can move files by selecting them and clicking on the "Move" button. Enter the new location and click the "Move" button.

Archive and unarchive files

You can archive files by selecting them and clicking on the "Archive" button. You can then download the archive, move it or extract its contents. You can also unarchive files by selecting them and clicking on the "Unarchive" button.

Select multiple files

You can select multiple files by ticking the checkboxes next to them. You can then perform actions on all the selected files at once.

You can select all files in a directory by clicking on the checkbox next to the path on the top left.

Check and Modify File Permissions

To check the permissions of a file, right-click on the file and select "Permissions". This will show you the current permissions for the file. You can change the permissions by entering the correct permission numbers and clicking the "Update" button.

Create files and directories

To create a new file or directory, click on the "Create Directory" button at the top right of the panel to create a new directory otherwise click on the "New File" button.

Edit Files

To edit a file, simply click on the file you want to edit. This will open the file in the editor, where you can make changes. When you're done, click the "Save Content" button to save the changes.
